CB&Q F3 121A
CB&Q F3 121A east of Eola, Illinois on Sunday October 11, 1964, photo by Chuck Zeiler. This locomotive was built during November 1947 (c/n 4465) on EMD Order E790A and was sold for scrap in May 1965 to Precision Engineering. This image is a result of my having missed the eastbound Dinky (commuter train) in Aurora, and the next Dinky was two hours later. Heck, I could walk home (to Naperville, 10 miles east) in two hours, and that's what I did. I shot photos along the way, and this location is about a half mile east of the EJ&E overpass in Eola. As it turned out, the next Dinky beat me to Naperville, but not by much.

Fred Goff General Great photo of a railroad that could be lost in time and progress if not for your photos.keep the great photos coming. 12/9/2009 10:36:38 PM
Gregg Bartley General Freight trains used to be very interesting and have a lot of character just due to the different lines and paint jobs represented. I guess I am just being nostalgic, as in the Seattle area, all we seem to get are the rather boring unit trains with a very predictable locomotive type leading the way. 3/10/2014 2:01:31 PM
