The Rock's light blue was certainly a cheery color, but it didn't stave off the eventual 1980 collapse of the line.

Ken Roble General Rick, those are some RI photos!! Do you think the Rock put their money in the wrong place and should have did a major track rehab rather than paint their locos and buy/lease new ones? 1/3/2011 11:41:45 AM
Rick Morgan General Ken: Your observation is probably apt; Trains Magazine's issue on the end of the Rock included comments by a car shop employee at El Reno who noted they painted a lot of equipment late in life that came back only a few weeks later wrecked. The road's track was, generally, in very poor shape at the end. 1/17/2011 6:50:46 AM
