Both of the units that work Missouri North Central hang out by the tombstone maker in town; MRIX 8316, MNC 4485. 8316 is former PAL 8316, IC/ICG GP8 7909, originally IC GP9 9194.

Thomas Rousseau General MRIX 8316 was originally rebuilt from IC GP7 8909. It was rebuilt in 10/71 to GP8 7909. It was sold to PAL who renumbered it to PAL 8316. It was sold to MRIX as 8316 and finally to Semo Port (SE) as 8316. It was never a rebuilt from IC GP9 9194. 11/16/2012 8:41:54 PM
Rick Morgan General While several internet sources state that MRIX 8316 was built as IC 8909, they are in error as it carries frame number 5480-7, which confirms its origin as IC 9194. 8909 had f/n 6495-4; its path is unknown. Chicago Central 8194, which is also associated, incorrectly, with this unit, had different nose and hood details. I understand it was damaged and sold to Wilson Equip in 1990 by CC and probably scrapped. 2/5/2013 12:23:59 PM
