Bob Hughes	General	Hi Marty, just found your great site via the RR Signalling Yahoo group. Great shot at “Cedar Street”, the nickname for the east end of New Rochelle interlocking. The freight on the right is probably NH1, daily freight between New Haven and Harlem river, which switched Stamford, Bridgeport, and other places as needed. The passenger train is westbound on Track 1 and the Freight westbound on Track 2. Tracks 1 & 2 were signaled for both directions between Rye and New Rochelle (about eight miles). This interlocking has been completely rebuilt over the past ten years or so, and today Metro North and Amtrak trains seldom conflict. All tracks are now signaled for traffic in both directions.
