Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #2333, #2536, and two other units whose numbers are not recorded. #2333 is an EF-25 built by EMD in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2536 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They are pulling an eastbound mixed-cargo freight train. A portion of US Route 22 is visible on the right. |

PC Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione. Shown here (R to L) are Penn Central Railroad engine #2636 plus two Southern Pacific Railroad units whose road numbers are not recorded. #2636 is a U25B built by General Electric for the Pennsylvania Railroad as number "2536" in February of 1965, rated at 2,500 horsepower, and renumbered "2636" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. A ground shaking rumble in Harrisburg revealed 10 CR units pulling freight on a dark July, 1977 day! Rolling quickly through, I was only able to capture the first seven black and blue units in one picture! The entire consist included leading unit CR SD-45 6163 followed by SD-35 6009, SD35 6032, GP-38-2 8090, PC U25B 2636, GP-38-2 8124, SD-40 6288, SDP-45 6696, GP-38 7806, and trailing SDP-45 6697. |
