Tipton. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Tipton, Pennsylvania, on 12 July 1964. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #2515, #2411, and #2249. #2515 is an EF-25 built by General Electric in 1962 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2411 is an AF-24 built by the American Locomotive Company in 1962 and rated at 2,400 horsepower. #2249 is an EF-22 built by EMD in 1963 and rated at 2,200 horsepower. They are pulling a 106-car westbound iron-ore train along with N-8 caboose #478216. |

DALE WY Oct 19 1977 -- Union Pacific DDA40X 6921, SD40-2 8014 and DDA40X 6912 make their way east on track one approaching the Dale Creek fill. EMD built the 6921 (b/n 34547) in December 1969. “UP 6921 was wrecked on 27 August 1978 at Point of Rocks, Wyoming; moved to Salt Lake City Shops, stripped for usable parts in September 1978; sold for scrap to Durbano, Ogden, Utah in February 1979.” (Roster information from http://utahrails.net/all-time/all-time-62.php#dda40x-6900) |
