This railroad was abandoned by 2004 as it faced financial trouble from unpaid taxes and loss Rf business which forced it to shut down. Recently, The city of picayune has removed the old office to build a new fire station and the plan is to move the 65 tonner uo the station. |

The abandoned Pearl River Valley railroad 65 tonner sits in the weeds in the swampy low lands of south Mississippi. Not long ago, they recently completed a new fire station on the property and left the unit along with a tool shed original to the railroad. The remainder of the track and right of way is covered in weeds and such down to Nicholson. This unit will remain for now. |
