Looking east, a Frisco local works in front of the station on the Wichita branch just west of the Santa Fe crossing at AG Tower. After the BN took over the Frisco they operated this branch for a short time but I believe it has been abandoned for quite a while. Augusta is about 21 miles east of Wichita. |

the Frisco had a heavy influence in north/central MS and Alabama and BNSF technically owns the now out of Service Aberdeen branch that was built in 1980 after the construction of the Tennessee Tombigbee waterway. Here sits the depot rotting away in place. There is still track in the woods and right of way that is very visible. |
