Burlington Route 5 compartment-6 double bedroom (5C-6DB) sleeper #451 SILVER QUAIL (Budd, Lot #9641-112, Pullman Plan #9534, July 1952, CALIFORNIA ZEPHYR), sold to Amtrak in 1971 as #2201, converted in 1983 to head end power (HEP) as #2220 (2nd), retired in 1995 and sold in 1997 to (presumably) Illinois Transit Assembly, which later became Gateway Coach, car is now owned by Mid America Railcar Leasing (MRLX) as #800712 and leased to Iowa Pacific, currently in IC colors with the name BELLEVILLE. Scanned with an Epson V550 from an original Kodachrome 35mm slide. Exact date is approximate. |
