Milwaukee Road X419 at Bensenville, Illinois on an unknown day in August 1979, Ektachrome by Chuck Zeiler. I thought this might be a former sleeper, but noticed a radio antenna on the roof and possibly a plated over window in the vestibule, so maybe it was a former lounge car. Jerry M. LaBoda adds: Ex-Iandee, nee-Alaska HW cafe - lounge solarium observation. Earl Selchert adds: This car was used as living quarters for the roadmaster on the steel gang 5528 from 1979 to 1985. |
