Description:  Built in 1950 by AC&F in Lot #3443 as GN baggage-dormitory #1201, 1 of 6 such cars (#1200-#1205) built in that Lot for the Mid-Century EMPIRE BUILDER, which was ordered in October 1949; cars were delivered between October 1950 and March 1951. In 1971, Amtrak acquired these 6 cars as #1550-#1555; the #1201 as #1551, seen here still in GN Big Sky Blue. The #1551 was later retired and transferred to MofW. Scanned with an Epson V550 from a Kodachrome original 35mm slide. Exact date is approximate. Photographer is currently unknown.
