CSX Z050-24 is a Canadian National train that is being rerouted over the CSX St. Lawrence Subdivision because the whole Canadian National system between Ontario and New Brunswick has been shut down because a Native Canadian tribe is protesting on a natural gas pipe going through their land. They have shut down and blocked the Canadian National system in that area and will continue to do it until a negotiation with the Canadian Government is made. CSX Z050-24 is seen approaching QM 8. This train has 432 axles! |

Wye Switches. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train at the Wye Switches in Duncansville, Pennsylvania during the Summer of 1963. Shown here is PRR engine #7163, an EFS-17M built by GM-EMD in October of 1957 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. It is pulling a mixed-cargo freight train from the Altoona Yards and is about to cross US Route 22, after which it will proceed to the Hollidaysburg Yards on tracks that occupied the original right-of-way of the Allegheny Portage Railroad (1834-1854). |

Just before 10am on Thursday April 16, 2020, southbound intermodal local G88 knocked the signal down at CP Austell in Austell, Georgia with NS #3511 (SD40-2) and NS #6220 (SD33ECO). G88 shuttles intermodal cars from Austell Intermodal Terminal, which it just departed here, to the nearby Inman Yard, a distance of roughly 14 railroad miles. NS #3511 is a rare breed on NS (and becoming even more rare), as it is one of the few SD40-2s with its headlight on the nose. |
