Description:  PRR E7 5849 at about 47th Street in Chicago, Illinois on May 9, 1965, Ektachrome by Chuck Zeiler. The E7 was built August 30, 1947 (c/n 3985) on EMD Order E745, became PRR 4209 and later PC 4209. Based on my fading memory, this is between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM, so this could be either Train #48, The General, due out of Union Station at 4:15 PM, or it might be Train #28, The Broadway Limited, due out at 5:00 PM.

An A-B-A set of EP-20's [at the left] eases a passenger train out of Union Station and through the crossovers at Chicago on June 29, 1957. The five-stripe EP-20 5851 led the consist past another set of EP-20's on its eastbound trip on a clear day in the 'Windy City.' Originally delivered in Brunswick Green, the EP-20's had been repainted to match the passenger cars. Photo by David R. Sweetland." All six of the PRR locomotives pictured here are EP-20's rated at 2,000 horsepower each.
