Description:  Burlington Northern Railroad SD9 6244 at Springfield, Missouri on October 9, 1994, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Built as B&O SD9 771 in December 1954 (c/n 20128) on EMD Order 5376, it was renumbered to B&O 7411, then B&O 1837. At some point it became MRL 6244, then BN 6244, then BNSF 6143, and possibly BNSF 1724. Note the hood of 7186 laying in the ballast. One assumes the rest of 7186 is in the former Frisco Shops in the background.
