Description:  Nice example of a Baldwin 2-8-0 Consolidation built in 1912 as it sits in the yard. Note on back says it was scrapped in September of 1937, just a little over a year after this photo was taken. Specs - H-1 class, 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 21x28" cylinders, engine weight of 170,000 lb, tractive effort of 36,827 lb. Unknown photographer.

TPW 2-8-0 #16 - Toledo, Peoria & Western
Title:  TPW 2-8-0 #16 - Toledo, Peoria & Western
Description:  Built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1914, #16 was one of only two H-2 class Consolidation type locos delivered. The two were nearly identical to a previous pair delivered in 1912 but with superheaters installled. They had 57" drivers and could develop a boiler pressure of 190 psi for its 22"x28" cylinders. Engine weight was 183,000 lb and the loco could apply a tractive effort of 38,397 lb. It and its sister served until retired in April, 1948. The day in 1935 is approximate.
