Nice original photo by an unknown photographer of the 1907 Alco-Schenectady 4-6-0 ten wheeler originally built for the Ulster & Delaware RR. The U&D was merged into the NYC Catskill Mountain Branch. Note the "CMB" below the window to separate it from a 2-8-2 with the same number. It was renumbered as #817 in 1936 and again as #1230 in the 1940's. Scrapped in 1949. |

Nice ten wheeler built by Alco-Schenectady orignally for the Ulster & Delaware as their #34. The U&D merged into merged into the NYC Catskill Mountain Branch. Superheated, renumbered to 811 and reclassified as class F-12a in 1936. Original specs - 69-inch drivers, 22x26-inch cylinders, and 200 pounds per square inch of boiler pressure. After being superheated they weighed 199,500 pounds and developed a tractive effort of 31,900 pounds. No photographer, date or location given for the photo but it was after the 1936 renumbering. |

Fair quality original b&w photo of the face of 1907 Alco-Schenectady built 4-6-0 #1238 while standing at the Bronx passenger sheds. This loco was a class F-2a and renumbered in 1936. Note on back of the photo states - "N.Y.C. 1238, 4-6-0, on Putnam train 128 at Segwick Ave (163rd St) terminal. Tracks were formerly electrified for third-rail Yonkers Rapid Transit to Getty Sq."
