Description:  Nice action shot of New York Central 1654 heading up a long string of freight cars at an unidentified location. Built by EMD in July of 1949, this unit proudly wears the "cigar band" logo across its face. The unit continued into the PC era with the same number. The slide is from the Wm P. Nixon collection.

Description:  NYC F7 1815, Zearing, Illinois, March 21, 1965, photo by Chuck Zeiler. Built in February 1952 (c/n 15426) on EMD Order 3098A, it eventually became PC 1815. The occasion of this photo was a steam fantrip on the CB&Q (note the fans on the tracks on the right), and Zearing offered a wye to turn the train where the CB&Q interchanged with the NYC.
