Built by Alco-Richmond in March of 1906 (serial #38917) as # 153, this was a class F-15 Pacific on the C&O steam roster. Specs - 72" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 22x28" cylinders, engine weight of 211,000 lb, rebuilt in May 1924 with 23½X28 cylinders, 73" drivers, engine weight 237,400 lbs., tractive force 32,400 lbs., renumbered to #436 in January 1925, sold for scrap to Luria Bros. in October 1951. Title:  C&O 4-6-2 #471 - Chesapeake & Ohio
Description:  Built by Alco in 1914 as an F-17 class "Pacific", this locomotive had the distinction of carrying the name "George Washington" while heading up passenger service on the C&O. It originally had 69" drivers and developed 185 psi boiler pressure but after a rebuild in 1934, it was given 74" drivers and could develop a 200 psi boiler pressure. As the way with the rest of steam, it was scrapped by 1952. A Forrest Trittenbach photo. With the help of Mike Woodruff (see comment below), the location is the Icy City engine terminal. Date is approximate.

Description:  Date is estimated 1930's. It was rebuilt in 1946 and it was altered to a 4-6-4 wheel configuration at that time. Appears to be the 21st Street roundhouse under the Ambassador Bridge. Thanks to TK Walters for pointing me in the right direction.
