Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken on 29 June 1949. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3608, an H-9S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during November of 1913 and retired in October of 1955 after 42 years of faithful service. Note that the driving rods have been removed! The exact location is not recorded. Many thanks to Mr. Robert Hess for correctly identifying this locomotive. Raymond C. Laws Collection. |
