Here is a steam locomotive portrait showing (R to L) Pennsylvania Railroad engines #6848 and #5497. #6848 is an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during 1926 and retired in May of 1956. #5497 is a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during February of 1928 and retired in April of 1958. Note the fireman, takin' five next to the "Mountain's" pilot! The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. (#37 of 40)

Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5344, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during February of 1928 and retired in April of 1958 after 30 years of service. In this context, it's rockin' 'n' rollin' past VERNON Tower with a three-car PRSL commuter train. The exact date is not recorded.
