Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8590, an ES-6 switcher built by GM-EMD as number "5990" in March of 1948, rated at 600 horsepower, and renumbered "8590" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Diesels On The Pennsylvania" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (819-44). |
