Bottom Photo Caption: "Local freight crew out of Cresson, Pa., keeps hoppers moving promptly to and from coal mines: J.H. Bender, R.A. Miller, I.S. Hartman, plus A.M. and R.J. Eckenrode." Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8811, an FS-16M built by Fairbanks-Morse in April of 1952, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in September of 1967 after just 15 years of revenue service. |
