Shown here is PRR engine #4895, a GG-1 built in Altoona during April of 1940. It is pulling a southbound passenger train near Milepost 33 on its way to Baltimore and Washington.

Description:  Byerly. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Fred Byerly that was taken in Elizabeth, New Jersey, in early 1968. The photographer is not identified. Photo Caption: "Pennsylvania No. 4895, Class GG-1, Elizabeth, N.J., 1968." PRR engine #4895 is a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) electric built in Juniata during April of 1940 and rated at 4,620 horsepower. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Electric Railroading ~ Penn Central and Pennsylvania Lines" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (868-22).
