Description:  Spruce Creek. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Spruce Creek, Pennsylvania, on 10 July 1965. Shown here are PRR engines #2539, #2517, #2234, and #2247. #2539 and #2517 are GF-25's built by General Electric and rated at 2,500 horsepower each; #2539 was built in 1965, but #2517 was built in 1962. #2234 and #2247 are EF-22's built by EMD in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. They are pulling a 61-car eastbound TrucTrain with cabin car #477627. At this point, the railroad tracks parallel State Route 45.

Description:  Brickyard. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trains at the Brickyard Crossing in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 18 July 1965. On the left (L to R) are PRR engines #6306 and #6303. Both are AF-27's built by the American Locomotive Company during 1965 and rated at 2,700 horsepower each. They are returning to East Altoona after helping or pushing a train up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin, Pennsylvania. On the right (L to R) are PRR engines #2534, #2247, and #7163. #2534 is a GF-25 built by GE in February of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2247 is an EF-22 built by GM-EMD in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. #7163 is an EFS-17M built by GM-EMD in 1957 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. They are pulling a 43-car eastbound merchandise train with N-8 caboose #478032.

Description:  WIL-ALT-65. Here is an original photo that I took while riding in a Pennsylvania Railroad passenger train from Harrisburg to Altoona during August of 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engine #2247 and another unit whose number is not recorded. Both were built by EMD. #2247 is an EF-22 built in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. They are pulling an eastbound mixed-cargo freight train near Mount Union, Pennsylvania. Note the steepness of the mountain slope bordering the tracks!
