Great winter action scene taken by an unknown photographer as an unidentified depot. The loco, CN 4-6-0 #1576, started out as Canadian Northern #1390 but became CN #1390 in 1919 and then renumbered CN #1576 in August of 1956. The loco was built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in 1913 (serial #52647, class H-6-g) and lasted until retirement and scrapping took place in March of 1960. No date, location or photographer was listed for this photo. Thanks to Bruce Gemmel & Raymond Kennedy for helping to identify the location as Palmerston, Ontario. |
