NOPSI 860
Title:  NOPSI 860
Description:  New Orleans Public Service, Inc. cars 860 and 891 were on France Street at Galvez, at the outer end of the DESRIE LINE, shortly before they were replaced with buses. The two cars had been built by the J.G. Brill Co. in 1922, while GALVEZ route bus 1707 – a White Model 788 - was brand-new. The smoke stacks on the other side of the Dixie Beer billboard were at a cement plant along the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal. (approximate day of the month)

NOPSI 860
Title:  NOPSI 860
Description:  New Orleans Public Service car 860 was inbound on the TULANE line on Canal Street, and was stopped at the intersection with St. Charles Avenue (on the left) and Royal Street (on the right). In this part of city, next to the French Quarter, many of the streets have different names on each side of Canal. The date of the photo isn’t known; but car 860 was damaged in a collision with a gas truck on 31 July 1950 and never ran again, so it has to predate that event. The TULANE car line was replaced with gasoline-powered buses on 8 January 1951. (approximate date of photo)
