PRR "Pennsylvania 4233," I-1SA, c. 1955
Title:  PRR "Pennsylvania 4233," I-1SA, c. 1955
Description:  ARB. Here is a postal card entitled "Pennsylvania 4233." No Postmark. Revised Caption On Reverse: "Pennsylvania Railroad 2-10-0 Decapod #4233 is crossing over westward past a set of Baldwin ["Centipede"] diesels in the mid-1950's. The {N-5C] caboose hop is about to pass beneath the 8th Street Bridge in Juniata, just east of Altoona, Pennsylvania, near the site of Rose Tower." PRR engine #4233 is an I-1SA built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during June of 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in June of 1941, and retired in December of 1957 after 34 years of faithful service. Published by the Railroaders Memorial Museum in Altoona, Pennsylvania. The photographer is not identified, but it sure looks to me like it's by John Dziobko, Jr.
