Description:  Chione. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken at Safe Harbor, Pennsylvania, in the Summer of 1950. The photographer is not identified. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3884, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during July of 1923 and retired in May of 1956 after 33 years of faithful service. In this context, it's pulling a railfan excursion that's sponsored by the Midwest Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society.

Description:  Chione. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in Bay Head Junction, New Jersey, on 7 September 1953. The photographer is not identified. The two steam locomotives on the right (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #3884 and #5367. Both are K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacifics" built in Juniata. #3884 was built during July of 1923 and retired in May of 1956, while #5367 was built in May of 1924 and retired in October of 1956. The brightly-colored diesel-electric locomotive on the left is Fairbanks-Morse "Trainmaster" demonstrator #3884, auditioning with the Central Railroad of New Jersey. Gift from Mr. Brad Mann.
