It was published originally in the September 1941 issue of "Railroad" magazine, page 92. Photo Caption: "Flying switch at Ashtabula, O., where the Pennsylvania has extensive dock facilities. The 4459 was built by Baldwin in 1923." #4459 is an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in January of 1940, and retired in August of 1959 after 36 years of faithful service.

Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4459, an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during May of 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in January of 1940, and retired in August of 1959 after 36 years of faithful service. In this context, it's pushing N-5C cabin car #477978 and a mixed-cargo freight train. The exact date and the location are not recorded.

At the left are two unidentified GM-EMD diesels powering an Erie Railroad passenger train. Mr. Ken May suggests that the latter may have been using PRR tracks during the aftermath of Hurricane Diane.
