PRR 7097, EFS-17M, 1960 |
Description: |
4th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trains in Altoona, Pennsylvania, during November of 1960. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #7097, #7162, and #7096. All are EFS-17M's built by EMD and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #7097 and #7096 were built in 1956, but #7162 was built in 1957. They are about to pass under the 4th Street Bridge with a mixed-cargo freight train on their way up the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve to Gallitzin and points West. ("Red Shift" slide converted to Black & White.) |
