PRR 7149, EFS-17M, 1960
Title:  PRR 7149, EFS-17M, 1960
Description:  Sweetland. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by David R. Sweetland that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in May of 1960. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #7164 and five more "Geeps" whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #7149 was built in November of 1957. They have just passed under the 24th Street Bridge, and are now threading the interlocking on their way up the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve to Gallitzin and points West with a fully-loaded mineral train. The smoke plumes in the distance pinpoint the Brick Plant.

Title:  PRR 2227, EF-22, 1965
Description:  Winter. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 03 January 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2227 and #7149. Both were built by EMD. #2227 is an EF-22 built in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. #7149 is an EFS-17M built in 1957 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. They are passing under the 7th Street Bridge with a 57-car westbound mixed-cargo freight train and N-5C caboose #477970. Bringing-up the rear are two ALCo "pushers," #8607 and #8609.
