Description:  Here is the front side of a "Vanishing Vistas" portrait that was published by Lyman E. Cox in 1974. Photo courtesy of GM-EMD. Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9690 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All are EH-15's built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9690 was constructed as an EH-15 in April of 1949, later regeared and classified as an EF-15A, and retired in October of 1967 after just 18 years of revenue service.

Description:  12th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 28 July 1964. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #8661, #8657, #8667, #9690, and #9776. #8661, #8657, and # 8667 are AS-18AM's built by the American Locomotive Company and rated at 1,800 horsepower each. #8661 and #8667 were built in 1958, but # 8657 was built in 1957. #9690 is an EH-15 built by EMD in 1949 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. #9776 is an EF-15A built by EMD in 1951 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. They are pulling a 59-car westbound freight train with caboose #477806. They have just passed under the 12th Street Bridge and are right in front of the Altoona Passenger Station.
