Description:  After meeting the UP train, the empty oil train still wasnt moving, so it seemed another meet was imminent. We headed toward Decatur to see if we could catch the southbound there, and saw him just south of town. This is the view at Y City Road as he drags over the top of the grade there at MP 219.

Title:  Back end of a meet
Description:  The sand train rolls through the home signals at South Gentry as the empty oil train starts to pull away, finally on the move after at least a 2 1/2 hour wait. The oil train had a CSX leader, not very common, and the original plan was to chase it north. The mid day light was awful, so I decided to chase the sand train. Things don't always work out the way you think they will.

Coal train DPU
Title:  Coal train DPU
Description:  I dont always pay attention to the DPUs, as the head end is usually a more interesting shot. Also, if Ive let the train get all the way past me, it can be hard to catch back up. I do like to get a shot, though. Since the chase ends here-the line between here and Sallisaw is impossible to follow-I let the train go by and shot the rear end. Nothing special today, not even the usual set up, which is typically a home road unit, with a pair of KCS six axles added at Pittsburg. Three BNSFs today.

Description:  My first CP train of the day also had a BNSF SD70ACe leader. I prefer CP leaders on CP trains but Ill definitely take two BNSF ACe leaders back to back! Windsor Ontario bound autoracks symboled as CP 234 race east through Waterloo. CP 234 is the old CP 244. CP recently underwent a completely systemwide train symbol change. Why you ask? I wish I knew myself.
