SRT 824
Title:  SRT 824
Description:  December 5th. is the King of Thailand's birthday, and every year the SRT will run its special service in observation. Here the 824 is all decked out for the occasion and taking a breather at Makkasan before rolling on to the next stop. Barely visible behind 824 is another preserved steamer making this a double header. Thai practice seems to be to put double headers back to back which is handy for bi directional operations. This is a Pacific type engine built in Japan after WW2, 1949, I think!

SRT 850, 824 Rgst
Title:  SRT 850, 824 Rgst
Description:  SRT pacific No. 850 passes under an inactive set of giant 'Rabbit ear' signals with a private charter excursion ahead of impending rain. This is the first time we catch her leading, usually sister 824 [trailing] is doing the honours. She is in enviously fine form here! It is customary for the SRT to doublehead steam excursions back to back as there are no places to turn the engines enroute.

SRT 850, 824Rgst
Title:  SRT 850, 824Rgst
Description:  3/4 roster type photo of SRT 850 [with 824] passing under a deactivated signal bridge. The 850 is a bit newer than sister 824, both built by Nippon Sharyo in 1950 and '49, respectively. Her light shines brightly though the afternoon gloom of an impending shower. [Thx. for the great lenswork, Ms. Sarnt!!]
