Delivered to Cartier Railway as CRC GP9 3 in May 1960 and renumbered 53 shortly afterward, to Intermountain Western as IWRR 178, to Virginia Southern as VS 178 in 1990, to Grand Rapids Eastern as GR 178, to Goderich-Exeter Railway as GEXR 178 in full paint named "Paulina". In August 1997 this unit was sent to Dallas, Garland & Northeastern but was never repainted or relettered, her whereabouts after DGNO are a mystery. In this photo GEXR 178 is in transit to DGNO parked in UP's Centennial Yard in Fort Worth a few miles away from her new home. |
