A unit that was fairly common, but faded quickly by the early 80's, probably due to its having the 567 engine, was the SD35. Southern used them on its road trains, usually in combination with a pair of SD40's, or in a mix of 40's and 45's. Here we see 3097J as middle uinit of a train making a set out at Pomona yard. |
