Spokane International RS1 1218 at Denver, Colorado on August 26, 1965, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 1218 was built in December 1949 as SI 207 (c/n 77840) on order S-3121, was leased by the UP October 6, 1958 when the UP acquired control of the SI. It continued as SI 207 until 1962 when the entire SI roster was repainted and renumbered into the UP system. During 1965 the SI roster was moved east and reassigned, this unit assigned to Denver. It was retired in December 1969, sold to Chrome Crankshaft December 27 1969, re-sold February 2 1970 to Tidewater Southern becoming number 746, re-sold to Central California Traction Company, Stockton, California, December 31 1976. |
