Built in 1908 by the Pennsylvania Railroad, the Raritan River Drawbridge, "River Draw", is the sole rail link for 17 of the 20 rail stations on NJ Transits North Jersey Coast Line (NJCL) and spans the distance between Perth Amboy and South Amboy, NJ about a half a mile from where the Raritan River meets the Atlantic Ocean, carrying almost 10,000 NJ Transit costumers a day. A new bridge will soon be built to replace the existing swing bridge, which suffered severe damage during hurricane Sandy. |
