In Mitch Dakelman's book Reading Facilties Volume 1, page 88 shows a small wooden shelter. and two tracks with a wooden platform at track level. My guess these supports amy have been for the wooden shelter. This map was provided to me by the Reading CompanyTechnical & Historical Society showing what the area of their Pennington , NJ Station looked like. The pedestrian tunnel goes under the tracks from Knowles Ave, ( Now called Broemel Avenue as per the RCT&HS map shown here). The grade crossing was eliminated 1936-1937 by constructing the pedestrian underepass. The freight platform are the squares shown in the upper portion of this diagram. Date of this diagram isn't known. A platform is shown between the tracks, and a shelter directly acrosos the tracks from the station. Refer to RCT&HS letter dated October 10,2020 in this album. |
