Coal on the River Line
Title:  Coal on the River Line
Description:  The River Line, the ex NYC West Shore, was known during Conrail years as a freight and intermodal conduit. There was some coal traffic on the line, for an Orange-Rockland power plant at Roseton. One of those trains, UAM 4, is rolling though North Bergen behind a set of power only CR would put on a coal train.

Title:  Approaching the tunnel
Description:  There was a connection on the River Line south of North Bergen yard to the old Erie tunnels that once were the access to the Jersey City terminal, passing under the DLW and the south end of the palisades. SEOI is about to enter, and will connect on the other side with the National Docks Secondary to get into Oak Island with its 69 cars.

Moveable bridge
Title:  Moveable bridge
Description:  North Jersey had a number of moveable bridges over waterways that are no longer navigable, though to look at them, you have to wonder if they ever were. This one is on the ex NYC just north of the North Bergen yard. SEEN poses on the draw which will likely never open again, especially since there is now a road next to it.
