Description:  7.21.1984 SOU 5037 running light through the former original Norfolk Southern yard. It sits below Southern's main yard in Charlotte. It was referred to as the "Rabbit" yard as there were numerous wild rabbits that made home in the adjacent bushes. Parts of the yard was recently converted to a shipping container facility.

Description:  4.7.1985 Parked on a siding next to the main yard in Charlotte, NC Southern's Warrior River, ex #2023, a 10-6 sleeper car (she was not a passenger car), used on the Boston to L.A. run that included the Southern Crescent and SP Sunset Limited, Shown here after she had undergone a fine restoration to full Southern livery before being sold to the Promontory Chapter NRHS. It had not been renumbered PPCX 800327 yet. Sadly, after the derailment in 2007, she was scrapped in 2008.
