Description:  Beautifully planned in 1894 and constructed in 1894, this depot served not only as a railroad depot for the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad but also had a formal dining room and all-night lunchroom and a full second floor for local railroad officials. These are features usually found in much larger stations.

Kehde's Barbeque Menu
Title:  Kehde's Barbeque Menu
Description:  According to the back of their menu, the car that the BBQ diner is housed was once a 1920 Pullman Standard car used on the DLW for 10 years. Then converted to an electric traction car, it was used on the Erie and then the New Jersey Transit before retirement in 1982. Kehde's purchased the car in 1995. It was brought to Sedalia and has the distinction of beind the last train car to travel southwest down the Katy line past the Katy depot before the line was converted to the Katy Trail State Park.

Description:  Trackside shows the massive brick and rock-faced limestone stretching out along the track. The octagon shaped end nearest us housed the 3 sided ticket office on the east and an open passenger pavilion on the west. The entire structure is slightly over 200 feet long.

Description:  Another view of trackside down from the depot. The depot was abandoned in 1983 with the title going to the Missouri Dept of natual Resources. Full restoration began in 1998 and the Katy Trail over abandoned right of way was also in progress.
