Description:  This is among my favorite BNSF schemes, but check out that unit following it! The train was ridinc yellows all the way, about 30 mph so we paced it. The train's UP Symbol was CMRCDJ 21.

Ex-Amtrak GP9u
Title:  Ex-Amtrak GP9u
Description:  It sure was a surprise to see this 56 year old high nosed ex-AMTK GP9u at the back of the consist! This unit started life in August of 1950 as WAB 451 (A Wabash GP7, it later worked for N&W too). It was rebuilt as a GP9u in 1978 for Amtrak and painted in their MOW Orange sheme. This unit was retired in June 2005 at Albany, NY in this silver and black scheme shown here. All they've done was apply a small stencil on the cab, and remove the horn and put blue masking tape over the Amtrak logos, still a VERY Amtrak unit, even has its strobes. They were used as switchers and in MOW Service before being retired.

Description:  Coming past the Bunge Corp. Elevator with 5 NS Units was UP Train MNLAS 16 through a hard rain. Needless to say I grabbed some of my grandpa's rain gear after I took this shot, I was SOAKED! There was quite a variety of NS Power on this train, including NS 9253 which is an Operation Lifesaver 25th Anniversary Locomotive.

The SD60 was built as CNW 8003 in August 1986, became UP 5947 on June 20, 1997 and was retired by UP and returned on January 4, 2002 General Electric Credit Corporation, owner and lessor.

I saw this unit show up on the DRGW.Net Internet Trace, but didn't think much about it, then it came around the curve in Poplar Bluff leading, so I chased it out here.
