I came out to Ferguson one morning to hopefully catch the morning eastbound, or maybe an early bird 112. I did not see any locomotive+vans, but I did catch a rare sight of a maintenance vehicle rolling past the old station at about 10:30 that morning. It appeared to be (according to scanner dialogue between the Dispatcher and Trautman(?), the driver) looking for defects in the track along the line. |

On March 26, it was my bi-weekly Thursday off of work. My girlfriend, Cierria, wanted to go train watching in Ferguson with me, but we did not get to go until 3 since we were visiting a friend in nearby Florissant. We arrived too late as Train #285 was hovering over Florissant Rd. But not too late to catch NS 5143 hauling D53 toward St. Louis, and definitely not too late to pose her next to the fence as D53s engineer gave a friendly wave and a honk as it passed us. |

On March 31, I drove myself to work instead my usual bus trip, so that I could catch any good action on the NS line in Ferguson. After an hours wait, Train 224 announced a rare morning run exiting Luther Yard over Broadway. When the engineer announced he had passed the signals at McLaran Rd. in Jennings, I walked down from Whistle Stop to the CityWalk Fountain below to get a shot of NS 2580 (an EMD SD70) and NS 9295 (a C40-9W) passing over it with the train. |
