Description:  The WC 10th Anniversary Locomotive heads UP train LSI55 01 past UP Hoxie Sub. North Dexter. We ended up with about 2 inches of snow, and it looked a little more like Wisconsisn here in SEMO. This unit was assigned to Poplar Bluff for basically 3 months repaying horsepower hours to the UP.

Title:  Southbound Manifest With Power Problems
Description:  I like SD40-2's. I like ex-C&EI/MP Units. I don't like ex-C&EI/MP SD40-2's that belong to leasers and aren't taken care of, like LTEX 9898 which shut down while at the crew change, causing the crew to bad order the second unit and left the dispatcher scrambling to find new power, which took about 3 hours to show up. Here the locomotives have cut off their train and prepare to head south light. The second unit was set out at Bernie.

Description:  Headed under US Highway 60 was UP Train ATXASX 08 with a couple Ferromex Locomotives up front. Pretty cool since it's not common for them to be the sole power for trains this far north. They brought some warm Mexican air with them since it was around 70 degrees today.

Description:  High winds and tornadoes knocked out power, blew down trees, and the power line in the background south of here. The Jonesboro Sub. and all the trains north of Piggott, AR were halted for a while, offering this shot with the sun setting under the passing clouds on the back of the storm system. Description:  It's been a long time since I'd gotten to see an ex-MP Non-Dynamic Brake Equipped SD40-2 leading a train. I finally got to see one again today. UP 7878 was built as MP 3309 in December 1979 with a Builder's Number of 796308-8. This combination of motive power made one heck of a racket. This unit was actually retired in 2001, and then reactivated in 2003.

Title:  Northbound UP Loaded Rock Train
Description:  Detoured by flooding in Kansas, this Bonner Springs, KS Rock Train was operating through here as UP Train RNLBS 29 with 4 SD40 type engines on the head end. Back in those days I had no clue where Bonner Springs was. Now I shoot there all the time.
