BNSF "Snoqualmie Pass"
Title:  BNSF "Snoqualmie Pass"
Description:  The "Snoqualmie Pass" is named after a locale on the Milwaukee Road's route through the Cascades that BNSF predecessor Burlington Northern owned for a short while after the Milwaukee pulled out from the West Coast in 1980. BN subsequently abandoned the route through the pass. I find it surprising a BNSF business train car would bear the name of a place that no longer is part of a rail system.

Description:  Who would have guessed units like ex-BN 9701 would be the Burlington Northern's pinnacle of motive power, a last hurrah before that mega merger pioneer passed itself into the pages of history via a mega merger? 9701's BN logos are now gone, replaced by "swoosh" logos below the cab windows and zilch on the nose, but her paint still echos BN's last hours of glory.
