But Easter evening I hit paydirt first with this eastbound freight which was slowly entering Long Lake to take the siding so as to meet a westbound which soon became my second catch. Brown Road is the bridge in the distance.

Charging For Wayzata
Title:  Charging For Wayzata
Description:  Away goes this Norfolk Southern trio. Racing for the Luce Line trail bridge and the Wayzata/Long Lake border. Behind the NS 2591 are a pair of plaine-jane NS SD70s. On days like these you'd think you were east of Chicago on the old Conrail lines rather than in the Gopher State, which is just fine by this railfan. Why go to the railroad when the railroad can come to you, hey?

Eastbound Black Diamonds
Title:  Eastbound Black Diamonds
Description:  I got so engrossed in a novel I was reading I almost missed this eastbound coal train rolling through Long Lake for an hour's wait in Wayzata for a westbound coal train to pass.

Through A Lense Backlit
Title:  Through A Lense Backlit
Description:  An eastbound freight crawls into Long Lake about to stop on the Wayzata sub for an hour. I wish the clouds could've blocked the sun long enough to filter the sunlight a little. At least the picture didn't turn out too backlit.

Sittin' On The Track Named "Main"
Title:  Sittin' On The Track Named "Main"
Description:  A common occurence along the Wayzata sub in Long Lake is trains stopping on the main track on the other side of the sound wall bordering Orchard Lane on the south side of the New 12/BNSF corridor until it is clear to head on into Minneapolis. Such happened to be the case with this eastbound job today. The guy looking at me in the mini-van probably wondered: "Just what is that guy doing on that hill taking pictures of a train?"

My Fifth Train Of 2010!
Title:  My Fifth Train Of 2010!
Description:  The fifth catch I've made so far this year while squeezing railfanning into my busy life apparently hauled ethanol. Behind the ex-ATSF hopper barely visible to the right was a long string of tank cars.
