P42 134 leads a typical consist with two engines and nine cars: a Heritage Fleet baggage car, two Viewliner sleepers, a Heritage Fleet diner, an Amfleet lounge and four coaches. The classic steel signal bridge was built by the Southern Railway and has since been replaced with an aluminum structure. |

Looking north along the loading/unloading dock for the former Sears & Roebuck warehouse. This building was bought by Ochsner Hospital and was in the process of being renovated for use as a marking garage. A few weeks after this picture was taken, the roof canopy over the tracks was demolished and the tracks removed. The rolling stock in the picture is the LASTA steam crane that was parked on the last bit of track that was still marginally serviceable. |
