It had been built in March 1965 as St. Louis-Southwestern 776, was renumbered SSW 6516 later that year, was sold to the L&NW in 1990 and placed in service as L&NW 54 in 1991.

Motive Power Resources in 2019.

The locomotive had been built in June 1968 as Detroit Toledo & Ironton 400, it became Grand Trunk Western 6400 in 1984, was delivered to L&NW on 17 April 2000 and became L&NW 57. It left the property in 2019.
