WGCR 3023
Title:  WGCR 3023
Description:  In 1990, a GP40 was big power for a tiny shortline in rural Alabama. Here we see 3023 after a fresh coat of paint. Unfortunately the life of this locomotive was considerably short on the G&O. After a brief stint on the Wiregrass Central and a some mechanical and electric issues, she went to Florida to receive some rework. She made one final apperance for the startup of the Altantic & Gulf shortline in Georgia before being sold off. From what I understand this locomotive lives on and serves another shortline in Ohio.

CSX (ex-SCL Family Lines System)
Title:  CSX (ex-SCL Family Lines System)
Description:  CSX (SCL-Family Lines System) woodchip hopper on the stubbed north end of the former L&N Florala Branch, the cars are at the end of the line. The Alabama & Florida RR (now defunct) had this saw mill customer until they decided to go to trucks. The woodchip hopper doesn't look like it had been relettered "CSXT" before I shot it. US 331 is in the foreground.
